Women, I’ve been on a journey that I know many of you can relate to. And while I can only speak to this as a woman, this is something for the men too. Seeing us shift out of the patriarchal order is one that takes time and patience and most of all, unlearning for all of us. For us women, it’s one where we step out of being in too much of our masculine energy.

I remember the first time the trees really spoke to me in unison very loudly in my mind amidst my favorite path in a quiet forest. It was pre-Covid and they told me of a large and looming upcoming change. But I also knew from them I didn't need to fear it. I had no idea what was coming our way. After I heard this, I was not ready to talk about this, or my other communication with trees for some time. It still feels very personal and also egotistical or unspiritual or something. But I've decided to push through the resistance, because it’s important to share this.

This new moon is oozing with creativity. With a snake month in a snake year, and the new moon conjunct mercury in Taurus, we can really get our hands into whatever craft calls you. Do you garden? Do you cook? Do you make something with your hands or have you wanted to? Does your body want to stretch, to walk, to move? To also sit on the earth, or with your feet in the water and to reach into the soil of your heart and tend it with time off and renewal? 

Lilith wants you to embrace and call back to you the parts of you that you gaze down on trying to hide, those parts you find smoldering with shame, or guilt. Our shadows can be displaced in ways of envy and jealousy, projecting against something when it could actually be a deep held desire that feels too crude, too much, too sexy, too needy, too angry, too much for ourselves to admit or bare, let alone be seen as or with.

This recent new moon brought in a balancing agent through an action-oriented grand cross in the sky. These energies asked us to go deeper, to really look at how we can heal anything that we are angry about in the collective by going within and healing ourselves.

Roosevelt said, "Nothing in this world is worth having or worth doing unless it means effort, pain, difficulty." and I resonate with this to an extent, although I’m learning that the way we are heading in the world is a more feminine way of doing things. We need to lean into not creating effort, but still be in right action and alignment. 

For the men, they may be able to put forth more energy into the doing, but I know us women are learning to find more ways of yin: of stillness, surrender, finding spaciousness to feel good in contemplation, in quietude, to breath and be, and pause in the mystery. And this takes a lot of undoing. 

This unlearning process can crop up in uncanny places. Places you didn’t think you were efforting:  like in relationships. Places where you have to balance the role of putting in “the work”, and knowing at times it will be hard, that there is acting; thought, and intention to keep what we wish and desire.
